Bench Building

Trent came over yesterday and helped me build a work bench for the garage. Now I can play shop mechanic and really mess up my bikes : ) Oh well. I'll just have to have Fox Cycle Repair fix my mistakes when he comes through town. The bench was fairly easy to make. Especially since Trent did most of the work. He let me touch his tools a couple of times, and then said I need to get my own : ) Thanks to Trent for all the help. Thanks to Brian for the plans. Here are a some pictures of the project.

In other home improvement news. The baby room is pretty much ready. He's due for arrival on Thursday, but maybe we'll have an Easter baby. You never know. Here's some more pictures for the soon to be Grandmas.

Dave I really liked it when you touched my tools. I'm cool with sharing, but I did notice I forgot my new Estwing hammer on your bench.

the one pic looks as though you're about to cut your hand off......obviously you didn't.

I have to agree with Paddy, it looks as if you were looking to beat the baby to the hospital with the forearm/wrist cross cut. We should all thank Trent for saving your limbs from power tools. Let's use this opportunity to guess when the young lad is born. Put me down for Friday, 5:30 am.

Thank guys!

Brian - We do everything faster than you :) Trent said he's in for RedAss! Now we just need you to commit.

Trent - I think you forgot your phillips bit as well. I'll fondle it until next time :)

Greg - What are you talking about a level?

Paddy and Pat - Luckily Trent pulled the plug just before I pulled the trigger. If it wasn't for him I'd be a Luke Skywalker wanna be :)

I'll take Thurday at 12:01am.

Dave, Trent...I'm looking for a bench...you guys should build one for me, and the only reason I suggest that is because I want a professional, quality built bench and with all the construction you two have been doing lately I want nothing but the BEST!!...seriously......I'm betting Sat. sometime

what is this 'fox cycle repairs' Simmons??? ever since you got married and moved I feel so 'cast aside'...admit it, you were using me just for my mechanical abilities, inflating my ego just to get what you want...your bike fixed, tuned, etc.....luckily I have a Guinness or several here to comfort me.

Dave, et al: ...Spencer and I are in the very early stages of putting together a trip from my house (in Duluth) up to Grand Marais and then over to Ely and then loop back to Duluth; initially following the North Shore "multi-use" trail, and then other MN DNR trails (paid for by the good tax-payers of the state of Minnesota). In a symbolic gesture of tolerance and civility, we have generously decided to allow snowmobilers to share the trail with us w/o a permit...We are looking at the four or five days between Christmas and New Years...The goal is to go 300+ miles!!!! You are welcome to join us, as is anybody else out there...the lack of sleep that you will soon experience as a new daddy with make for great training!!!
Fondly,
Charlie

That's funny, the first thing I did when I bought a house in 2003 was build a work bench so I could work on bikes. Nice!

Looks like you have room for a lot more bikes in that garage!
