Red Ass 300 The registration is open for the Red Ass 300 up in Manitoba. 300 miles in 36 hours on June 9th and 10th. Anyone thinking of going? I know I am. It's so close it would be stupid not to do it. How about it GF guys? Sound off.

I would love to Dave. We will have to see what happens. Hopefully they won't fill up too soon!

Dave,
Here is my excuse list.
It is only #4 on your list, the baby will be about 2 months old, I haven't finished #1, only one new bike a year, June will be warm.

Hey Paul. Yeah, in a way I hope they fill up fast because that would be a good thing for them and also make my decision easier. But, on the other hand I think this will be right up there with TI and DK for best gravel grinder of the year award :)

Fair enough pw. Congratulations again on the baby! I'm still not 100% sure I'll do it yet either.

Hey Dave, I think I need to talk to you about this one. We'll have to get together some time in the next week or so.

Hey Dave, Charlie Farrow here from Duluth, I remember talking with you about the Red Ass 300...It look fun in a sick sort of Arrowhead 135-kind of way! Can one still get in? And is it true that it has a lot of singletrack on the course? I am about 70% optimistic that I can get up there and partake in all the fear and loathing as its a good week for me in terms of work, etc...Could you please email me at cfarrow@esko.k12.mn.us if you have any other info to share?
Thanks,
Charlie

Charlie, go to www.olympiacycle.com
for info...it's more gravel than singletrack...like 99% of it for sure.

I'm with Charlie; we need a decent single-track (race) around here. (I encourage TBB to buy a trail-making machine and run it from WI to ND.) I can't make the RA 300 Dave; my VT summer class runs thru June 14. Should be back in ND June 19. Maybe ride the Maah Daah Hey 23-24? We could show Charlie the prairie expanse and PW could run shuttle with the baby...
