I'm disappointed that you took out all the major climbs, and I am sure that Sears and Barton feel the same. I'll see if I can get a bike outfitted for such a adventure.

I'm not sure I'm man enough, although Kim would say otherwise ;o), to ride 100 miles on the fixie...you guys and your gears and all....UNFAIR...undecided...Pat, Brian and I are just to hardcore to allow ourselves to ride with you gearies....we're gonna do our own thing, snowmobile trails and gravel roads...none of that pavement stuff you have set up...sorry Simmons...we feel you have let us down, we don't want to do this, but feel we have no choice...:o(

5ears

There is very little pavement. It is 95% gravel roads. Use a freewheel instead of your fixed gear. YOU GUYS have let ME down :) I will ride it on the single speed pugsley if that makes a difference. At least Rick is man enough. I hope you guys change your minds. Let's here some more excuses :)

what time do you plan on starting??
do I need to bull the wilderbeast trailer with?...how much stuff do I need...I'm guessing an average speed of 12 mph, maybe 13mph..lol..talk to me Simmons

With an average speed of 10mph which is very conservative. We're looking at 10 hours + reststops. I figure a good 2 hours for gas station breaks and a hot meal in Minto. Soooo, that is about 12 hrs worth of excitement. We could easily go faster or slower than that depending on the weather and what gearing you want to push. Whatever gearing you go with we plan on riding as a group, not racing. But, if we are going too slow for you, by all means go ahead and put the hammer down :) The faster we ride the faster we get back. I would like to ride the Poprad depending on road conditions. They should be pretty good.

Right now the forecast is for a high of 52 late in the day and a low of 34 in the morning. Partly cloudy skies. Wind out of the SSW at 15mph. Sunrise is 7:19am and sunset is 5:04pm. I think that if we met up at 6:00am and left by 7:00am that would be good.

Make sure you charge up your camera and we will probably need minimal lights.

Both Rick and I are out of shape :) What do you think? We could always call your girl for you if you start to cry :)

Rick has a good point....it's OPENER of deer season in Minn...them drunks like to shot at slow moving things that kinda, sorta look like deer...

I know you have some blaze orange to go with all of your guns.

We'll just have to ride faster :)

Simmons said...

Speaking of your guns. Bring them. Then we can shoot back :)

I'll bring the shotgun just incase we scare up so birds....then we could have a cook out during the ride!!..now that would be FUN!..is it legal to shoot from a moving bicycle? or while straddling a bicycle?..I could set up a sling and carry it MAD MAX style!!
