Here's a good picture of Charlie Farrow and me riding together. There are some more on the Arrowhead site as well. Congratulations Charlie on a fourth place finish! He was on a Specialized S-Works. Proof that you don't need a winter specific bike to do well. Whose coming with me next year? I think the eyelashes on my left eye were frozen shut when this picture was taken.

I'll come next year Davatello. I will walk and survive off of the land, and 40's of Old English.

I can't wait my bearded friend :)How far are you from Emporia, KS? Are you up for the Dirty Kanza 200 in May?

Thems is some BIG tires!

Emporia is about an hour a way, and if it involves dirties im there! I looked at the website, and that race looks like a monster, but you should enter in the single speed, since you were able to ride in death you should roll right through the Kansas countryside

If that guy can ride an Epic, that means that I can ride the rusty 970. I bet I could fit 2.3s on there!

That would be very doable. But, you better hope for those same trail conditions next year. If it was any warmer the trails could have been a nightmare on skinny tires.

That Lemon Lime Green 1x1 is so tempting.

I got 2.25 Kujo's on the Fixie. Not really usable on 517's, but there was a fair amount of space. How much of an advantage did you have over guys with "small tires?"

Brian, you should get the green 1x1 and put a black pugsley fork or a evingson cycles fork on it. You could then have the option to use the endomorph tires on the front if needed.

Greg, I think I had little if any advantage over the skinnier tires. It was so cold out the trails were pretty firm. I think the guy who did it in 16 hrs had 2.5's on his pugsley.

I don't know, the 1x1 fits up to 2.7s; that's pretty big compared to everything except the Endomorphs.

Near as I can tell the guy who did it in 16 hours had an old Bontrager frame and 2.25 Geax Blade tires on snowcat rims. I could be wrong but that's what I think I saw at the start line...last time I saw him! BTW Dave, are you going to be at Frostbike this weekend?

Hey Matt, I didn't make it down to Frostbike. Have you written up a report yet? What would you change for next year at the Arrowhead race? Talk to ya later :)

Maybe you don't need a snowbike. But I'm sure it helps.
